Celebrating 50 Years of Rock: Kundalini by Armando Molina ... They play to their fans

By Beto Cronopio ...

My good friend Armando Molina celebrates his 50 year career in presenting his album Rock Kundalini, distributed by EMI Music and is now available in stores MixUp. Because

affection that I have, I am not qualified to perform an objective review of their album, I leave to the experts. Just say that I have a theory that their keyboardist (who is also musical director) is a being from another planet, very good type, the fact put him metals and flute gives it a rich flavor to the songs (reminisencias of Ritual Santana and Chicago).

- Tiene inédito un libro sobre el festival, su título provisonal es: "Avándaro, everything that was said and not said."

- produced many records of Mexican rock group such as Ritual.

- has played with: The Shakes, The Sinners, The Monks, Mexiko 13, Dragon King, Los Hitters, Robert Jordan, The Blackshirts, The Jokers, Javier and "Baby" Batiz, Los Locos del Ritmo , etc.

- As a producer brought to Mexico with Eric Burdon, Wild Child (best cover band The Doors), Canned Heat.

- As TV producer worked alongside Alejandro Jodorowsky psicomago on "Happening to go go."

- met the priestess of fungi Maria Sabina.

- attended a Jimi Hendrix concert in Los Angeles California,

- interviewed some players of Team Brazil in the Azteca Stadium locker room when they won the final at the Estadio Azteca in 1970, yes, including Pele and knew the Jules Rimet!.

- also is an instructor in the Gnostic Institute of Anthropology.

- has a collection of vinyl and memorabilia quite respectable.

Today I think is very devalued the term "Group Rock "but Armando Molina and Sound Machine taking the microphone, their instruments and tell us: Music with Attitude made for the sake of rock!.

Auditorio Nacional
With half empty, the sound of an artist can undertake to fill the remaining spaces, and that's what Deep Purple showed Tuesday night , to nearly 5 000 500 people, according to the organizers to attend.

The symphonic and psychedelic rock group was enough to enchant English the ears of the attendees at the first of two dates, and was the second to open the sale, since the show last night he would be ticketing exhausted.

From 21:05 hours, when it appeared the quintet to deliver "Highway Star", shouts and applause welcomed Ian Gillan (vocals), Steve Morse (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Don Airey ( synths) and Ian Paice (drums), who showed smiles and returned with high output power hosting.

The singer, 65, interacted with the audience a few times, moved slowly and put all their efforts in trying to reach the high notes; also dosed his presence to make way for the showcasing of their peers in several solos, which were matched with glee by fans.

But Gillan did not need more than his voice, without fanfare, to dominate the stage and grab the attention to the rhythm of "Maybe I'm a Leo", "Strange Kind of Woman", "Rapture of the Deep" and the recent "Silver Tongue," among others.

"Hello, how are you?" For us it is a pleasure to be here and see happy faces, thanks, "said the leader of the formation, and occasionally repeated phrases as" we "and" fantastic! " .

A twenty songs delighted the fans of the group, including instrumental passages and solos performed by Morse, Airey and Glover, and while guitarist received howls of euphoria because of their technique, keyboardist became apparent its domination of the Hammond organ and included many tunes devilish classics with ease, sometimes in the darkness of the back of the stage or in flashes purple, blue and red.

Among the most anticipated and performed song of the night included which closed the concert, "Perfect Strangers", "Space Truckin '" and "Smoke on the Water", the classic of the band, just as smoke rose from the background vocalist and invited public to participate ...

"No sound, louder!" He noted.

All indications were, including the complete family Lora, as Alex and Chela, sitting in the front rows, even left in place screens belting out like any other fan of the band.

After only a few minutes' absence, Deep Purple returned to the scene, without their leader, to run on the encore "La Bamba" as a sign of complicity with the Mexicans, and, immediately afterwards, the chant of the crowd appreciated again in the chorus of the popular "Hush." To the beat of "nah-nah-nah-nah" artist and fans became a left alone and happy, then on each side.

About 22:50 hours, "Black Night" did herald the end of the dream of progressive rock, and, when turned all the lights, the musicians appreciated the benefit of present and were satisfied, they hope to repeat today Sunday in Monterrey and Guadalajara.
